My Graduation Project: A Bold Endeavor with Spool By Tolhuijs

When it came to my graduation project, I knew I wanted to push myself to new heights and create something truly special. I had a vision in mind, and I was determined to see it through without any compromises.

Of course, there were obstacles along the way, but in the end, I can confidently say that I outdid myself. And one of the most exciting parts of my journey was working with Bastiaan Tolhuijs on his beautiful SPOOL lamps.

Thanks to my internship at the time, I had access to the gear I needed to bring my vision to life. And when Bastiaan approached me about creating a video for his lamps, I jumped at the opportunity. It was incredible to witness firsthand the process of these stunning lamps being made.

Working on the SPOOL project was a true highlight of my graduation journey, and I’m grateful for the experience and the opportunity to collaborate with such a talented artist.

Location, Location…

I was fortunate to have such great shooting locations for the SPOOL video. The powder coating location had amazing lighting that created a unique and atmospheric atmosphere, and the symmetry of the space was visually stunning.

One of the most memorable moments was when we hung the SPOOL lamp in a small living room. It was a challenge to hang the lamp in the perfect spot above the table, and we had to use a huge rig to make it happen. Despite the difficulties, it was a fun and rewarding experience to see the end result.
